“I’ve always enjoyed building things. Moving into tech let me combine that with work that actually helps people — and being able to support researchers while building good software is what makes the work at Spiral so rewarding.”
Mano Pihema
Junior Developer
Mano comes to software development with a strong background in making and building, first through cabinet making and prop work in the film industry, and now through technology. That hands-on foundation shapes how he approaches software: with care, curiosity, and a focus on building genuinely useful things.
Since transitioning into tech, Mano has worked at the intersection of software and people-centred outcomes, and is now building his understanding of clinical trials alongside Spiral’s platform. Outside of work, you’ll find him snowboarding, surfing, snorkelling, or in the workshop doing a bit of woodworking — the same practical mindset that carries through into how he builds software.
