The Product Quality Team helps ensure Spiral's software is reliable, intuitive, and fit for purpose before it reaches clients and users. Through quality assurance, automation, testing, and continuous improvement, the team helps build confidence in every release.
Who is Dean?
I came into quality assurance through software engineering.
My background includes full-stack development across Java, React, JavaScript, and Python, before gradually moving further into testing, automation, and software quality. What I enjoy most is understanding how systems work, identifying where things might fail, and finding practical ways to improve reliability.
Today, I work across quality assurance and automation, helping ensure the software we deliver is dependable, maintainable, and trusted by both our team and our clients. I enjoy working in environments where quality is considered from the beginning rather than treated as an afterthought.

Beyond Spiral you’ll find me
When I'm not at Spiral, you'll usually find me spending time with my young son, collecting Pokémon cards, gaming, or working on DIY projects around the house.
I'm also constantly experimenting with personal projects involving AI models, automation, and emerging technologies. I enjoy learning new things and exploring ways technology can solve real-world problems.
At home, I have two six-month-old kittens, Zuma and Ash, who may very well be the fluffiest tabby cats imaginable and provide regular distractions from whatever project I'm trying to finish.
