Meet Anna - Spiral’s Office Manager and Data Coordinator

At Spiral, we’re always working hard to better meet the needs of our clients and partners. As our product evolves so too does our team. Meet Anna Williams, the newest full-time member of the Spiral whānau (family). Our office manager and data coordinator.

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll find Anna running Spiral’s virtual office; supporting the team to provide the best possible service to our clients.

Having sunk her teeth into our data coordinator role, this newly created position includes a lot of project testing and wrangling. Why? To ensure that when our clients are ready for UAT (User Acceptance Testing), everything is ready, functional, and in a highly usable state. This extra support for our developers means we are able to scale effectively as the demands of our clients increase.

‘As a business, we’re constantly trying to adapt and be agile in an ever-changing environment while meeting our client’s needs. There are always new developments but that’s what makes this kind of work so exciting.’

Anna has always been involved in administration and IT. With grand plans ahead of her, the lure of an overseas adventure found Anna diving head first into the field, working as a medical secretary in the United Kingdom. This gave her strong foundations within the industry. She recalls typing out dictaphone notes and meticulously checking the dictionary to ensure that the spelling was correct. It was here that Anna was able to hone her attention to detail, something she brings to her role every day at Spiral.

‘The medical field is so massive, I am always learning but it is good to have formed a strong foundational understanding of it while in the UK’

The Panoramic trial, a trial that is working to find effective early treatments for COVID-19, has been a buzz for Anna. It has had a quick uptake in the face of the pandemic, but with amazing tangible outcomes. This particular trial requires quick thinking, quick hands, and extreme accuracy. Something Anna meets the demands of, willingly.

‘In every trial there is something new, we’re constantly trying to evolve as we go and make things better’

When discussing the values she lives and works by, Anna describes herself as something of a traditionalist. She appreciates loyalty, honesty and transparency. For her, these are things she recognises and experiences with her team on a daily basis. Although everyone at Spiral works remotely, Anna feels there’s a sense of ease and cohesion amongst her colleagues, as they consistently support one another.

‘Everyone has your back. They’re always ready and willing to answer any of my questions. There are no hidden agendas’
