Tika tonu

This iconic Hawkes Bay haka calls for young people to look inside themselves. “There you will find the integrity that will lead you out of your troubles.”

Tika tonu would be suitable for both men & women,  has the right context and has no restrictions on its use.
Andrew will lead the haka. We are hoping anyone from New Zealand or connected to New Zealand will join in.
This site has a video, the words (also below) and some background on this haka which will help explain why we chose it.
This video for the words and correct pronunciation of tika tonu  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ch4UUAsg6dU
This video is clearer and shows both the male & female roles in the haka. https://vimeo.com/223440237
and finally this emotional rendition …..

These are the words. You need to learn them along with the relevant actions. Practice with HEART! and remember the whole body should speak in the haka!
